Experience Iceland on a round trip along the ring road and on some side routes. The trip is designed for a duration of about 6 to 10 days:
- South coast:
Along the south coast at the beginning of the round trip past the famous volcano Eyjafjallajökull to Vík. On the way are not only the waterfalls Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss, but also the glacier Sólheimajökull and the cape Dyrhólaey. - Vík – Jökulsárlón – Egilsstaðir:
The highlight of this part of the journey is certainly the glacier lake Jökulsárlón and the Diamond Beach. But also the south coast and the east fjords offer impressive landscape experiences. - Egilsstaðir – Mývatn – Akureyri:
From Egilsstaðir we continue over the Mývatn to Akureyri in Northern Iceland. For this part you should plan at least 2 days. Here is a slightly longer variant with a detour to the Tjörnes peninsula and whale watching in Húsavík. - Akureyri – Reykjavík:
From Akureyri we take the ring road in a day trip to Reykjavík. Those who want to take more time can make side trips to the Hraunfossar waterfalls and to the Vatnsnes peninsula. - Golden Circle:
On a day trip from Reykjavik you can explore Gullfoss waterfall, Geysir and Þingvellir National Park.
